Santa Rosa Symphony
Summer Music Academy

June 25 – July 13, 2007
String Classes, Wind Ensembles; String Orchestras; Music Appreciation; Theory and Composition; and an Academy Orchestra will be offered for musicians ranging from beginning to advanced students in elementary, middle, or high school and will be held at the Sonoma Country Day School campus in Santa Rosa
(SCDS web site).

Enrollment is limited. Discount offered for registering and paying in full before May 1, 2007.
Classes or rehearsals are held Monday through Friday with some exceptions. The final performances in which all students will perform will be held throughout the afternoon and evening of July 14, 2007.

Greenfarm proudly announces a new program just for guitar players ages 8-18, exploring diverse repertoire for a "mini” guitar orchestra. Sight-reading, ensemble techniques and interpretive skills will be covered.

Two Sections:
Beginning-Intermediate 10am-12pm
Intermediate-Advanced 12pm-2pm

Piano Ensemble Workshop
July 9 - July 21 (two weeks)
1:00pm-5:00pm • Monday-Thursday
Greenfarmfest Performances:
Saturday, July 21, 5:00pm and 7:00pm

For piano players intermediate to advanced, exploring the exciting repertoire for one piano -four hands, two pianos -eight hands, and every other combination imaginable!

Performance and interpretative skills will be supplemented with daily sight-reading, harmonizing and basic orchestration tasks in the state-of-the-art Clavinova keyboard lab.

Fee: $300 (enrollment is limited to 16)

EXCEL for Youth
Session I: June 25 - 29
Session II: July 9 - 20
Session III: July 23 - 27
Mornings: 9:00am - noon
Afternoons: 1:00pm - 4:00 pm

This award-winning academic enrichment program is for students in Grades 4-9! This summer EXCEL is offering classes on the SSU Campus including a wide array of arts-based classes to complement Greenfarm’s musical side. There is a supervised one-hour "lunch bunch" at no charge for students enrolled for morning and afternoon sessions.
