A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Greenfarm, the Arts + Education program of the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University. Greenfarm Director, Professor of Music, Brian Wilson, along with distinguished faculty members from around the region and the nation, have prepared a rich and enjoyable summer fare of courses and programs for people of all ages.

The wide array of summer programs includes the community-based choral Midsummer Night Sings workshop directed by Robert Worth, the popular Chanticleer in Sonoma Choral Workshop, the Santa Rosa Symphony Summer Music Academy, and SSU's award-winning EXCEL For Youth program. Greenfarm's new programs this year also feature workshops with the nationally-recognized Atlantic Brass Quintet and the San Francisco Early Music Society.

Whether you are a student, parent, teacher, performer or simply a lover of the arts, Greenfarm has something for you this summer. Registration and program information is included in this brochure.

For more information or to register on-line visit our website at http://greenfarm.sonoma.edu or contact Program Director, Professor Brian Wilson at brian.wilson@sonoma.edu. With special thanks to our many donors and supporters, we look forward to seeing you on campus this summer.

Sincerely,

ABOUT GREENFARM
Greenfarm is the Arts + Education program of the Green Music Center in Sonoma County, California. Each summer—and eventually year-round—Greenfarm offers a broad assortment of unusually rich, interactive, arts-centered learning experiences for people of all ages and backgrounds

ARTS + EDUCATION IN ACTION
In addition to being the home of the Santa Rosa Symphony and Sonoma State University’s performing arts programs, the Green Music Center will serve as a cultural, artistic and intellectual hub for the larger Napa-Sonoma-Mendocino-Marin County region in Northern California

Born of a partnership between a first-tier symphony orchestra and a thriving liberal arts college campus, the Green Music Center’s mission is to cross-pollinate, to leverage, to synergize arts and learning in such a way that the impact of both is deepened.

Greenfarm embodies the Green Music Center’s commitment to establishing the arts as a vital, thriving and indispensable part of our communities.

Greenfarm was established to realize the Green Music Center’s arts + education mission. In these early years, while the Green Music Center complex is being built, Greenfarm is bringing together high-quality, arts-centered training programs on the campus of Sonoma State University.

GREENFARM PUTS THE "+” IN
ARTS + EDUCATION

Young People + Teachers
This summer, Greenfarm’s mix of participants runs the gamut from kids to teachers, from young students to lifelong learners.

Youth Programs + College Campus
Greenfarm sends children to college—every summer. They get innovative, college-level academic training—early. They get college-level resources to explore. Sonoma State University is a hub of intellectual life and artistic development in Sonoma County. Young people thrive in such an environment. Better yet—they begin to imagine their place in the world of higher education and beyond.

Music Ensemble + Private Coaching
In addition to ensemble playing, Greenfarm students receive private coaching by members of the Santa Rosa Symphony and/or Sonoma State University Performing Arts faculty. Greenfarm music students will receive up-close, side-by-side learning experience.

Mind + Spirit
Greenfarm teaches teachers to deepen the impact of their classroom work with creative exploration to open young minds and awaken young talents.

Aim High + Reach Wide
Perhaps the biggest plus of all, Greenfarm aims to bring the highest quality arts and education experiences to the widest possible audience—the best to as many people as possible.
